Another "grouping" experiment
Comments (30)Morning, My goodness this thread grew...:) Purple, I had to chuckle....Don't read between the lines. lol. Ok. Purp, no need to worry. You will not be held accountable for my stupidity if a plant or plants kick the bucket. I am indeed proud of you for coming up with the idea and sharing with us poor, over-crowded indoor gardeners. Believe me, so far, my combined plants are doing well, and would you believe, the YARD has more room??? Of course, while shopping yesterday, I did something I said I wouldn't do...browse plants at Home Depot, came home with Phonix roebelenii. A large plant! Asleep, my 'man.' How are you? How's the Scheff's coming along. Sorry, I didn't read all the posts, so will have to update to understand what you and Purp are discussing. As for long hair on men, you know my feelings..I think it's sexy. lol. The last line I read was you talking about moving tanks, and stuff on tanks..Ugh is right! I'm seeing Monsteras. Very pretty Philodendrons, but grow TALL. For some reason, a Monster, Split leaf? I bought at WAlmart before I said I wasn't going to be buying more plants, hangs...??? What's with that. It has a health problem, for sure..Everyday I find another brown leaf. The basket doesn't have a saucer, so it gets watered in the sink. To think, I left a smaller, much smaller version in the alley for someone to take..and they did. So, who's grouping what these days? Toni...See MoreKiss of Desire
Comments (2)I tried growing an ownroot "Kiss of Desire" severeal years ago, but it was very small when it arrived and never took off. One bad winter killed it. Too bad - it is a lovely rose. I planted the Kordes climber Antike '89 in it's place, a climber that looks very much like "Kiss of Desire". Antike is a grafted rose and it has done extremely well. I think my "Kiss" was just too small of a rooted rose to get established before the first winter, and it never recovered. I do grow other ownroot roses, but I try to get 2-year old ones for that reason....See MoreKiss Me Over The Garden Gate seedlings
Comments (8)My wife cut the flowers the other day, and put them on her table. After 4 days they are still standing up, telling me that the plant has a strong desire to live and continue its species. The wind storm we had knocked many over, so I trimmed them off at soil level. We'll see how agressive they are, and whether they show the tendencies of the white japanese knotgrass ( which I had at my last home and moved away from ). My reading suggests that this one is more ornamental and not as agressive, but we'll see....See MoreWhen your taste exceeds your means?
Comments (57)My problem is that I get bored of things or I get buyer's remorse or a couch gets a stain on it that I can't get out! So I want high quality, but at a reasonable price in case one of the above happens! I spend a lot of time shopping around! I am redoing my bedroom and found a photo of a look I liked. I searched and found the fabric for the drapes and it was something like $300 per yard so I abandoned that idea. I looked all over and found drapes in almost the same fabric at Pier 1. They are a black and white graphic pattern. They were extremely inexpensive. Now if I want to change to flowing white drapes, I don't mind replacing them. I also looked all over for my duvet cover and shams. After looking at so many of them, I actually found my favorite at JC Penney! Very inexpensive, great quality and I love it! I saw many tufted headboards in my research. After looking at them all, I found someone on etsy that makes headboards and she has great reviews and is very reasonably priced. Now if I get bored of that style, I don't mind changing. I love the headboard! The one thing I splurged on was the fabric for my throw pillows. It was $150 per yard with a 2 yard minimum. I was really hesitating about purchasing the fabric, but then I found pillows made in that fabric on etsy for about $70 each. They bring everything together in the room perfectly. I looked and looked but couldn't find anything as pretty with those colors. I am extremely happy with the result! So I really do believe you can find things you love at a lower price. My couch in my living room is from Rowe furniture. I looked at very expensive couches everywhere. The one I loved the most was at a store and it was Rowe. And it was not that expensive. It has been so well made and looks just as beautiful as the higher priced sofas....See Morehollie_z9
