How much fish/seaweed liquid per plant?

Hi all -

Last year in addition to an early season organic granular fertilizer, I did a fish and seaweed soil drench of 1 gallon per rose bush using recycled 1 gallon milk jugs (following mfgs instructions of how much fertilizer/gallon of water.) Lots of work for 34 bushes and 1 gallon per plant may have been overdoing it.

This year I'm thinking of doing a foliar spray with a soil drenching using one of those time released liquid sprayer and likely Neptune Harvest to get the benefits of both leaf uptake (foliar spray) and root uptake (soil drench). My questions:

* Is both a foliar spray and soil drench essentially at the same time a good strategy?

* Does each rose bush really need 1 gallon of mixed solution?

Thanks and warm regards, GAW
