SALT in Food

I am raising some African violets that I am running tests on using Leachate. I had one violet that was given to me almost dead I watered it with leachate and at first it came back to life and bloomed. After a month or so the same violet has limp stems and leaves and a white substance appeared on the flowers. I tasted the flowers and they were salty. I tested the soil in the african violets it had a hi level of salt. I also tested the leachate which also contained high level of salt. The casting in the bins are slightly salty. i then tested the pre-composed fruits and vegetables as well as those that are still fresh and found they are salty. So that is why my Leachate is salty and killing my violets.
