Thrips - I've had it!!!

Hi all. I've tried everything to get rid of thrips (systemics, insecticidal soaps) on my 20 violets, but they keep coming back. I have even restarted plants by cutting off the crown, dipping it in rooting hormone and covering the pot with plastic. The plant restarts and is free of bugs for a few months, but I think the other plants reinfect the newly started plants.

How about this for a "final solution"???? Take all violets and restart in the manner above to start them all fresh at the same time. Then spray the babies once they start rooting to wipe out the thrips on all plants from the very beginning. Any other ideas before I go chopping??

Bugged out in Troy.
