Comments (18)I really didn't wish to get into any kind of argument with anyone. I was only pointing out that the terms of use of Garden Web were being infringed ...." the Terms of Service and applicable copyright, trademark and other laws govern your use of such content. You may not post to the GardenWeb Network, copy, reproduce, retransmit, distribute, publish, commercially exploit or otherwise transfer any material subject to any Rights." The OP was posting photos which people clearly assumed were her own when they were not. In fact if Getty images spotted it there could be unpleasant repercussions. They trawl the web constantly for material they own and threaten people who use it without permission with legal action. It has happened to an acquaintance of mine who innocently used an image found via a Google image search. I don't believe that it is mean spirited to point that out. As for Chelsea, I agree with every word Campanula wrote....See Morethose gigantic ramblers - Kiftsgate et al
Comments (73)I went a little rambler-happy when I ordered for the cemetery. There are quite a few big trees there, and I basically picked one for almost every tree. If Brian the caretaker doesn't want them all, I just may keep one or two for myself -- and save the rest for another cemetery I'm already eyeing. This is what I've got sitting in pots right now: Brenda Colvin Kew Rambler Kiftsgate Mlle Cecile Brunner, CL Polyantha Grandiflora Rambling Rector Seagull The Garland Treasure Trove Violette Wedding Day summersrhythm -- If you got the real 'R. moschata', I'd recommend planting it against a wall or side of a house, facing south. Mine was getting hit hard by Winter, and this Spring I dug it up and moved it to where it got more sun. Hopefully, this will allow it to ripen more before Winter sets in. For you, I doubt it'd make much of a climber. Even where it's warmer, it's more of a big sprawling shrubby thing -- look at pics of it on HelpMeFind. Of course, there is the question of whether you got the real thing. Some places sell 'R. brunonii' under that name. Others sell something else entirely. BTW, what is "Thema"? I can't find anything about that one. Was it a typo? :-) ~Christopher...See MoreAL has the best weeds (part II)
Comments (29)I believe I finally found it: aster lateriflorus (calico aster). To quote The Audubon Society Field Guide..."One of a group of closely related, narrow-leaved asters which presumably interbreed and are difficult to distinguish. The common name refers to the fact that the heads are at first yellow and later turn purplish-red, so that flowers on one plant and even a single head may include both colors at the same time." Merry Christmas! Nelson ;-)...See MoreShow Us Your Gardens - A photo Thread - July 2015 Part II
Comments (39)Molie, I have a few white daylilies, but 'Light the Way' is really quite stunning. I also love 'Delia O'Brian Brown'. Steve, I can smell those lilies through the screen! And I'm sneezing! LOL! I really love the look of lilies, but I'm so allergic to them. Tried them for a couple years but just had too many issues. Then the beetles came.......then I really gave up. Will have to continue to enjoy your great photos! Isn't Marie's garden awesome?! I'm so glad Barb took pics while we were there. One of those gardens that is just so much fun to stroll around and find all the cool stuff planted. Such a wide variety. Claire, my viburnum was flowering beautifully, until they all started to turn brown, shrivel up and fall off. So no berries for me this year. I was just happy that the shrub appears to be OK. I was a little worried when the flowers were giving it up. I really like that carefree delight rose. Soooo pretty. Rooguchi clematis has been a blooming powerhouse for weeks. It doesn't show much sign of slowing down yet. Mohawk viburnum with its beautiful berry display. I love the way they change colors over time. Sorry for the blurry photo. I really need to ditch my point and shoot and go back to my D-SLR. But you get the idea. It's loaded with berries.....and the birds and critters never eat them. The daylily bed never disappoints. Delphiniums are now all cut down in cottage area. Hoping for a repeat bloom this fall....See MoreAamich
