Julia Child was my first idea also and it's fragrant.

Julia Child is clean in my garden, although I've only had her 2 years. Honey Perfume is 5 years old and has never had any BS ever. Beautiful bush. More yellow than apricot. Pretty, healthy, upright and blooms constantly.

Julia Child, and also Elina, stay disease free for me, until the fall, when a lot of rainy weather usually causes a little blackspot on the bottom leaves of some of my roses. I planted Limelight this spring, and the foliage looks very healthy so far.

Check out some of the Buck roses like Prairie Harvest.

I think Chinatown would fit the bill. It's never shown me any disease problems, and it's fragrant
Also, new to me this year is a lovely HT Madame Marie Curie which blooms like crazy, has no disease issues and is fragrant.

I would second Honey Perfume. It is more resistant than any of my other roses. It does not hold a bloom for long, only a few days. But it is in almost constant bloom.

Tantau has a fragrant yellow rose called Candlelight (2001). The leafs are unusually healthy in my climate, with lots of rain blackspot can be very hard here on most roses. This rose stands out with dark shiny leafs and large yellow flowers that can take a lot of rain and blooms until frost comes.Is is also very fragrant. I have seen it classified as a hybrid tea, floribunda and a shrub. I would go for something in between hybrid tea and shrub. It is really a good rose, looks much better in real life then the pictures on helpmefind.

Carefree Sunshine is the only one in my garden that never gets blackspot.

Sunflair stays very clean here in SE FL. Beautiful, lush foliage on an easy to care for bush. I know a lot of folks in FL use it as a hedge or mass plantings.

The bed of Pim Ling's Yellow Submarine at Elizabeth Park in CT looks very good--about 4 feet tall with lots of bright yellow blooms. The bed of Julia Child isn't as tall.

i have a honey bouquet which is a floribunda and grows about three feet tall. absolutely gorgeous weather -resistant blooms and seems quite resistant so far...

I was checking for suggestions for BS resistant roses myself as I'm getting very tired of all the doctoring and still having problems. The reason I'm posting here is to brag about my Sunsprite. I have three and they are the only roses I have right now that are not leafless or almost leafless. Roses are a beautiful yellow, smell wonderful too. Their foliage is beautiful, green and healthy. I've had good luck with them for about five years now. Am ripping everything else out and looking for really resistant varieties.

You may want to consider something with Rosa rugosa ancestry, like Rugelda.

Hey, I live in Monmouth, Oregon near the state capital, Salem. Currently, I have Julia Child, Elina, and Easy Going. Initially, I was told that Elina does not like wet weather, but I persisted and she does get some bs, but I am able to control it. It is more of a pale, pale yellow almost cream colored. Has no fragrance but the blooms are large and last a while. I have a Veteran's Honor and make bouquets with the two as the blooms are a similar size and last a long time in the vase.

Julia Child is wonderful. Very little disease, lovely fragrant (spicy) blooms and 3 to 4 feet tall. A very good yellow.

After getting Livin' Easy and loving it, I decided to get its sport, Easy Going, and have been very happy with it. It is also disease resistant, medium fragrance, nice rich color. Stay away from Sunsprite, horrible disease magnet and the blooms blow in one day. Julia Child seems to fit the bill. Bon Appetit! CJ

I am surprised to see Julia Child listed. It is a great rose, but not blackspot resistant for me. Carefree Sunshine is blackspot-proof.

It's been in my garden for two years, it's never been sprayed with any fungicide, and I've never seen a single Black Spot on this well-foliated shrub.

I live in Oregon, near the coast, & recommend Morning Has Broken from Heirloom Roses. I've had it 5 years & it's never had any blackspot & always has bloom. It stays about 3 1/2 foot tall.

I don't grow Carefree Sunshine but my friend in AL praises it.

Hey, fellow Oregonian! I live in the rainy Willamette Valley and have Julia Child, a great rose and also Easy Going which has been wonderful. Have tried several other yellows which have been highly rated but did not do well for me, such as Sunsprite, the leafless wonder. Julia Child and Easy Going are a sure bet at least they have been for me. CJ

So far I have had good luck with the new yellow one called Shockwave. It has taken our heat and humidity pretty well and has been blooming steadily. I don't know how well it would do in western Oregon, but I would imagine it would be quite showy.

I've had a wonderful old shrub rose with bright yellow flowers called Electra. It never had blackspot, bloomed constantly, and was very vigorous. Anybody else grow this old shrub rose?
