So I fried my rock foil...

I have a saxifraga x arendsii 'Touran white' that I purchased in the spring. I plopped it in towards the top of my rock garden, it did great for a while, but ummm... kinda forgot about it. I have watered the garden this summer, but not as much as this one seemed to have liked. It's all brown and crinkly towards the center, some older green around the edges with a hint of new growth on the far edges (only a 6" diameter spread overall).

What do I do now? Since we've had a bit of rain and NOW keeping up with more diligent waterings, is it too late to save this one? Anything extra I can do to help it's comeback next spring? Should I move it to a more shaded location?

Also, would some sea thrift (Armeria maritima) be a better choice for a rock garden (err, a bit more hardy?)? I saw some on sale today.

(My apologies for being a bit garden-challenged. I'm trying to learn. Thanks for all your help!)
