I love having so many trees in my yard. I have still not run out of browns from last fall!!

A bucket full of huge white toad stools - so big, my dog growled at them when she first stepped out the door this morning. But the compost bin is so full I'm having to let it settle - with encouragement - so don't add much at the moment. cora

Let's see: Corn cobs - lettuce and corn leaves - two slices of old bread, and a couple of buckets of "straight out of the factory, horse manure. This straw bin is now full so tomorrow I'll be adding-on another bin. Fortunately for us is that there are plenty of composting materials around the valley so we're always making compost around here. My only regret is that we don't have more than we do.

Lots of shredded newspaper a couple of days ago and then today, the remains of lots of mangoes I cut up for home made sorbet. The larvae are VERY happy!

Most of the above, except bones. Also cat hair from the shedding comb, hair from my own hairbrushes and cotton from used swabs and cotton balls. Also any food left over on plates after dinner unless it is meat.

compost bin had for lunch:
10 gal of 4 year old canned goods--salsa, sweet pickles that got burried in the back of the cabnet

compost pile had for lunch: all the old cotton socks in the house as the people got new ones, 1 doz old eggs and carton too, trimmings from cleaning out two flower beds, 5# UCG, grass clippings and dried leaves that have already fallen, cucumber plants and some peppers plants that are failing. oops almost forgot the old bread and buns..........
