Is this really Pomponella Fairy Tale?

I ordered three fairy tale roses from Palatine this year. One of these three supposedly should be Pomponella Fairy Tale, but mine does not look like the pictures on helpmefind one bit. I suspect that I got a mislabled rose. Your thoughts?

BTW, mislabled or not, I am very pleased with the quality of the plants I got from Palatine (or at least 2 out of 3).

I have 2 CFT roses planted in pots and both of them turned out to be a climber. I've got them last year in June as barerooted, and now they've reached the height of our french doors. I'm thinking of getting rid of them. Don't get me wrong, the flowers do look pretty and the leaves are healthy, leathery and dark green - but I just couldn't smell anything. Well, the scent is very mild apple - nothing exciting to rave about. Secondly, the thorns are sharp, and I keep getting several scratches on my hands and face. Maybe if I have a large backyard I might keep both of them...see how it goes. Perhaps I'll give them another year.

Ceterum, last year was really hot and dry, nevertheless, I am still pretty sure that Pomponella does not have problem with balling. I have noticed no side effects of rain and dew. The blooms do not have any fragrance (HMF says 'mild'.. maybe but not to my nose). My roses were planted in March last year (huge bareroots from Palatine, to begin with), at the end of season they have grown lots of new canes, and the bushes were about 5' x 5'. Also, I would like to mention that canes are very strong and sturdy. The blooms are pretty, but I find them a little bit small compared to the complexion of the bush... or, maybe I should prune my bushes more after the bloom cycle.

Mama G, I noticed the blue bottles first thing. Also the plate rack cabinet which is different from most I've seen. I want one row for 11 inch plates vertical, one row for small plates, and then what is left over, maybe have that flat storage shelf at the bottom. I want to put my white stuff in those, and the colorful dishes in the glass door cabs in the dining room. Where there are open shelves, you need to use things frequently to keep dust to a minimum, or wash those items regularly anyway. Behind glass doors, displayed pretty dishes stay cleaner. I have my DH's family china he saved from his mama's house, something like American Limoge, creamy white with a gold band. I have a set of Sakura jungle animals and parrots that I'd like to keep visible but safe too. The cups and dessert plates have a gorgeous design. Has anyone heard from Springfield recently?

I always like seeing what authors do with some of these fairy tales and myths. I think I preferred Crimson Bound to Cruel Beauty. I too will be interested in whatever the author puts out next.

nope, not pomponella, I think, which is a funny raspberry colour and retains a globular form throughout its flowering. Mine is not even open yet - it is a very late bloomer here.

Thanks, Campanula. Yes, there is nothing raspberry about the color of my "Pomponella." Here is a picture of DW holding "Pomponella" next to Louise Odier.

it is still quite a cutie but yep, I would be quite annoyed because Pomponella has a definate quirky presence.

The flowers look better on camera than in real life. It is also smaller than the one showing it together with the LO as the picture does not show the distance between the flowers. As a result, the LO appears smaller while this appears much bigger than it really is.

Yes, it is a bummer. I was really looking forward to having a Pomponella.

Wonder what this could be... Sent an email to Palatine earlier today, and will can talk to someone there tomorrow.

I went on a shopping binge and bought two dozens or so roses from pretty every place where I stumble into a rose I like: Rose Unlimited, Heirloom, ARE, Palatine, David Austin, Home Depot and Weeks (via a local nursery). This is my first mislabeled rose...
