Craftsman DGS 6500

I have a DGS 6500 with 321 hrs on it. It was left at the place that I bought as part of the deal. It starts and runs fine but it has a hard time making it up a hill or incline. my plan is to remove the cutting deck and use it to blow snow off the road/driveway. No manual was left with the machine, but it's clean and appears to be in good shape. Before I dive into this thing... is there anything that I should be looking for? i.e. loose belts, clutch adjustment, etc. that would restore this guys forward uphill movement? Thanks in Advance.
Signed, Stuck on an Incline.
