Replacing Starter on JD x304

I think my starter is shot and wanted to know if anyone had instruction on how to replace and if it is an easy job?

Back story, my son left the lights on the tractor overnight and the battery was dead. I jumped it with my car (not sure if that was a good idea to begin with) and it started and I used for about 5 mins. Turned it off and tried to start again. Would not turn over. Jumped again, it started, and I left the cables on it while it ran for about two minutes. All of a sudden it shut off and now when I try to start (even with a new battery) it trys to turn over but does not start. Starter sounds like it is "grinding" a bit.

TIA
