They can take up to 2 weeks even though it says 7-10 days. It'll come. I've ordered from there several times.

My first order from them came within a week or so. My last order from them took just over two weeks. I called them to check up on it and got them two days later.

I've ordered from them several times and had great service!! I think Value Seeds is a great (and cheap!) resource for seeds!

I've not ordered from them in a year or two, always got the seeds I ordered. They are slow on delivery, though, at least a week or two from time of order. If I were in a hurry for something, I'd order elsewhere.

Good to know, I was wondering the same thing myself, about service from Value Seeds. When I order from T's I usually get it in 3 days. Summerhill and Swallowtail are about a week to ten days. I can hang in there.

Nancy, be sure you keep your list of what you ordered. Their seeds come packed in little white foil wrappers that don't have pictures or anything. It's very utilitarian. And sometimes, the names aren't the same as what you saw online.

When I receive my seeds, I mark the packets with the common name, variety, or whatever I think I'll need to identify them. It IS really easy to forget between when you order and when you plant! I've never had a problem with shipping time. Maybe I'm more inclined to be a bit more forgiving at these prices, but I've found them to be as good as most full price sellers, & better than some. (are you listening Parks?)

I have not received mine yet either,but it has only been about a week.

I think now is their busiest time. When I wintersowed last year, my quickest time was 5 days in June. Not a peak sowing month. In January I was getting the 10-14 day shipping times. Just be patient.

In fact, everyone's shipping is bogged down. Baker's Creek and Pinetree are all taking forever. I'm waiting on 3 shipments. 2 from Valueseeds, 1 from Pinetree. My Water-Sun-Together order just came in today. They sell 99 cent seeds and were having a free shipping special when I plugged in my order.

From what I see and hear, the garden seed and transplant business is going to be a good one.

Loved them! Will order again next year.

Consistently ~2 weeks each time I've ordered from them.

I will say their seed count is usually higher than what the package should have in it. Unlike some places I've purchased from this year.

When you get the seeds, use the packing slip inside the envelope to get the WHOLE name of what you purchased. Then go to their site (or any site really) and find the info you want - height, color, etc..as it will not be on the seed pack, write it on there yourself!

Their seeds are great and cheap and delivery is not the quickest but it is reasonable. But there is so little info to work with - - - that's the downside...you have to find it yourself. Do it while you still have time to be inside at the computer!

Being the OCD person that I am, I put all that info on my spread sheet as soon as I order the seeds. Value seed isn't the only company that doesn't put complete information on the package. Wildseed Farms does the same thing. They do put the whole name on the package, but no other info is there.

At least now I know, I can be better prepared next year and get my ordering done well before the solstice. (Yeah, right... that'll happen!)

Nancy, value seeds has a better selection in the fall. At one point, they had 13 pages. Last time I looked, it was down to 9.

Next year I'll have to go there first. They had some I got from another vendor at a higher price. I'm hoping T's has a better selection next year too. I got a lot from her this year for a buck.

Remember, Value Seeds is the excess from Thompson and Morgan. So it's the same seeds, they'll just be a year old when you sow them. I've never had problems with germination from them. This year I placed two orders and will have more experience with them.

I placed an order with them on the 3rd, and emailed them yesterday to inquire about the shipping date. The email I received back this morning, apologized for the delay, and said that they were overwhelmed with orders over the holidays, and were running a bit behind. My order shipped on the 12th. If your concerned, send them an email.

I think it took about two weeks.
I order from them all the time. I have like about four orders I placed with them between Summer 08 and November 08. Their stock changes so I always check back to see what is there.
I have good germination on their seeds...haven't noticed any significant problems. Perhaps the shock of the cold from WSing must enough to knock the seeds out of dormancy or whatever.

-- I always check VS first to see if they have what I want. I notice the TM site sometimes has the same seeds at the same time...perhaps the ones Value Seeds were collected for the previous year and have been on the shelves longer than they feel comfortable selling for the higher price.

I think they also sell things where they have a small quality control glitch that makes them less than perfect for T&M.

I got three packs of hellebore seeds from them. Each had a couple of seeds less than it was supposed to have. It was not short enough to annoy me, but seeing it consistently in three packs makes me think that they had a bit of trouble getting their seed packing line set up that day and that they knew that everything was running a seed or three short.

I think that T&M guards their reputation carefully and something that is "marginal" instead of "on target" gets sold through Value Seed where the price savings still makes it a great value.

It makes me wonder about those $0.49 Cherokee Sunset rudbeckias at Value seed. I think it's supposed to be 50 seeds to the pack. If it only has 45 seeds to the drop the price so low that the customer will still be happy?

Both parts of the company are really interesting and I like the way they do business.

I've also had one Valueseed pack where the cultivar name wasn't printed quite right on the pack - so I bet that was pulled out of T&M by quality control but was still good enough to sell through the discount outlet.
