African Violets

Looking for plants? My African Violets are looking for a new home

I am moving abroad and have 3 African violets looking for new homes. They are all related, light pink flowers, variegated leaves. Healthy and happy plants in 4in nursery pots.

I'm not looking for money, just a good home where they will be loved and cared for. If you are interested, and somewhere in the San Diego area, please get in touch!

Hi! Did you know that many African Violets are started from a single leaf? It's probably easier that way than with seeds. Here is a link: http://www.violetbarn.com/lessons/violets_by_leaf.htm You might ask around-church, friends, Craigslist--and see if anyone would offer you a leaf or two. I think the hardest part would be finding someone, but many people have African Violets. They are low maintenance, always look good and do well. That's probably why your grandmother wants one! Hello everyone, I am looking to add some flowers to my tropical fruit greenhouse. I've grown a single standard purple african violet as a house plant and liked the flowers. I am looking for some of the more unique varieties with nicer flower colors. I have a cutting bed to root petiole/leaf cuttings. Any starters would be much appreciated and I of course would pay for the postage! I do have some Hoya's I would be willing to send cuttings of in the future in return, they are still a little small right now though. Thanks for your time!

***just fyi the three plants are all the same, took the babies from one of them to get the three. One is ready to be divided so technically there are 4 plants!

That is a beautiful plant. Unfotunately I am too far away, but does anyone have a guess on the variety or know of a similar one?

Of course, it might not grow as well here anyway.

How about a couple of leaves in a padded envelope? I'm not usually a leaf person but I love that plant!

Hi everyone, I am not sure what kind of violet it is, but I think it may be "Elizabeth" or "Apache Freedom".

Thank you so much for the tentative identification. I'm afraid I also sent you an email, but I had first pored over photos and "Elizabeth" was the only one that even seemed close! I will look at "Apache Freedom."
