Good red part-shade rose for a front yard endcap?

I recently purchased an azalea for the endcap of my front beds, with the garden store assuring me it was a true red. It came up pink, and my wife hated it. But it got me thinking whether a rose would be a better fit there. I need something substantial and shrubby to serve as an endcap on my southwest end, but there's a tree just to the north of it, so it gets part shade. Fragrance would be nice, as would a decent stem to be able to get cut flowers out of it (I love my David Austin Crown Princess Margherita except for its awful stems!), but they aren't dealbreakers. I just need something dependable that will grow in zone 5 and in part shade. Any suggestions?
