Tree for a property line?

I've had two Chinese Elms along my property line at my lakehouse that have been in the decline for the past five years I've owned the place. This spring I found that one had not made the winter, and the second one looks like this will be its last growing season. So I've decided to cut them both down (both about 40 feet tall) and plant another tree. I'd like to plant only one tree, instead of two. Where I would plant it is about 25 feet from the nearest tree in one direction, with no other trees near it in any other direction. I'd like like to plant a tree with a fairly fast growth rate. I already have planted a Princeton Elm on my property, thinking about either a tulip poplar because of the growth rate, however the nursery by my house has some nice red oaks. Obviously the oak will live longer, how much slower will a red oak grow in southern Michigan over a tulip poplar? Any other ideas?
