Riding Mower - Stray Wire

I hate lawn mowers!!

Finally got my lawnmower starting correctly after replacing the carb. Today I took off the plate down in front of the seat where the gear shift is. Needed to do a little oiling and greasing and blowing out the Black Widow Spiders. After putting back the cover, the mower wouldn't start. It didn't even emgage the starter.

Took off the plate to inspect and found that a "yellow" wire from the harness which had a connector on it, was loose. For the life of me I couldn't determine from whence the wire became disconnected. I suspect it is a hot wire to the ignition because even when "jumping" it directly at the starter it won't start even though it's turning over very fast. The wire isn't long enough to go anywhere except to the general area or the module is where the rest of the wires are connected.

Any ideas from experience?

The mower is an MTD with a 13 HP Tecumseh engine in it. It's 10-12 years old, but running like a Swiss watch.....

....when it runs :).

Thanks,

Jim
