yep, that is what we are seeing here too. tomorrow is gonna be 104, with a heat index of 115 or so. my AC is getting a good workout!

Nothing against the southern states but its hot and muggy alot more there than here.We had the heat index near 100 yesterday and it was nasty.We have the cold but you can always put more on!you can only take so much off.

We hit 68F today. I had to wear a jacket this morning because it was about 55F. I thought about turning on the furnace last night but put on a sweatshirt instead.

We might hit 72F tomorrow.

Gulfcoast of Texas, ya, it's been hot. As long as there's no huricannes, that's what scares me. There's still water standing in parts of my friends yard(he'd asked me to mow it) and the skeeters are TERRIBLE!

It's so hot around Raleigh not even the skeeters are flying. Matter of fact, haven't seen any ants or much of anything flying around this week...except a couple of flies, and those darn things are gonna be around long after humankind are gone. That's what we need...a cure for the common cold and something to get rid of flies.

It's 54 degrees here in midcoast Maine this morning.

Here we are, Friday morning, it's raining and the temp is 59!!

10AM and it is 92 with a heat index of 101 right now! supposed to get to 104 today. i am ready to take off work and go home and get in the pool!

It's been in the triple digits here for about a week and the 7 day forecast shows more of the same. It's times like this when I smirk when I see suggestions of "just water your lawn 1" once a week." Try that here and you will have a fire hazard : )

70 degrees here, over cast, drizzly. I have an outdoor wedding to attend this evening. All of the little debutantes will be wearing Woolrich coats! Hardly seems worth going to.

funny thing is my front lawn seems to LOVE this weather. the weeds have died up, and the bermuda is as lush and green as i have ever seen it. my lawn get ONLY rainwater, and whatever runs off the kids waterslide.

I left Thailand in August 1971,and went to Fayetteville N.C. (Pope AFB)and I wished I stayed in Thailand.It was cooler there.I am now in DE with A/C.running 24/7.I find if quite comforable setting the thermostat at 80 F and run two floor fans at each end of the house.I actualy feel cold in the fan bresse/breezze,brese/breeze/brezse/Ahhhhhh dang it... air flow......

Update! 54.8 deg now with .39" rain.Had to close all the windows this mourning!or i would be using the heat right now.

stanleyjohn, later this year when you fuss about the cold, i will remember this as i am outside cutting the grass in shorts. it don't get below 50 at night around here until after thanksgiving, and not below freezing more than a couple times until Christmas or later. heck, last year it 68 on Christmas day.

Hi David!I was just using alittle humor.Two days ago it was verry hot and sticky around here too!I enjoy all types of weather!thats what makes living here in NE so nice.Hot in the summer for swimming,refreshing 70s weather in the spring and fall and the snow of the winter which i like.It was a cold day today 50s!tommorrow it will be more normal low 80s.Take care and keep cool. I grin every time is see a picture of someone with a snow blade or snowblower on their tractor, course I truely wish mine had AC.

It has been hot here in Wisconsin... humid and muggy too. I was out cutting hedges and mowing today and came inside ringing wet... yuck...

Any day mowing at any temp beats any day running a snowblower...

Here in Ct the weather changes alot!If you dont like todays weather then just wait for tomorrow.This mourning we had a record low of 49 and it was only in the 50s yesterday.Today into the low 80s then 90 sunday.We dont get alot of days in a row of 90 or greater!i think 4 in the row was the longest this year,no 100+ this summer.Not everyone is baking out their,some like us have some cooler weather that shows up in the summer.Even here in Ct people complain about the winter and the snow!for me i love the snow!I try to be an outdoors men no mater day of the year.I love weather,have been an amateur meteorologist for years and NE weather always keeps the weather men busy.You in the hot states have the high electric bills with the AC and we in the North have the High oil or gas bills.I guess San Diego would be the place for most perfect weather but very boring for the local weatherman.

Man I miss the cold. I remember when I was in high school in PA and the temp stayed below 15F for a week, causing a state of emergency. I worked at the Allentown airport and they 2 of every 3 lights turned off to save electricity.
Here in coastal NC it's been so hot and dry even the weeds are dying off.
The thing I like most about the cold is you can always put on more clothes, or throw another log on the fire. In the heat, all you can do to stay cool outside is strip down and jump in your neighbor's pool. But that never seems to go over well...

We've had a several week stretch of high 80's and 90's. I live in the woods and normally use air conditioning 5 to 10 days per year. It's been on for three weeks and counting. Our electricity rates recently increased about 40% after a ten year rate freeze. I'm expecting a whopper of a bill.
