Very nice photos and beautiful, blooming violets. The one looks like Rebel's Splatter Kake and I love the blue frilled blossoms on the other one. I thought at first it might be Rebel's Minnesota Haze but as it isn't variegated it can't be that. Anyway, thanks for the photos. Your camera does a nice job.

Yes, Rebel's Splatter Cake which has been in bloom for 9 weeks and no dead flowers yet. The blue one is Ness' Blue Confetti which has some flowers to 2 3/4" across.

Thank you, thank you Ron for posting your pictures and the link. I just LOVE the unique plants of the Florida panhandle! Actually, you and I both live in what used to be the Florida panhandle, West Florida, that is. I've only seen a Catesby lily in the wild once, in Harrison County, MS, north of Gulfport many years ago. I couldn't quit looking at it! The article says it depends on fire. They do a good bit of burning around here, so you'd think it would be growing here somewhere. I need to get out more and look! Sherry

Bobby, we and our neighbour are going to enjoy the hilarity when the birds come to feed!! Bluejays are so persistent. Yes, I seem to remember the roots are tough, so I am hoping that the hollyhock seeds I put in will take it, or I may cut the sunflowers down and wiat till spring when the seedlings are bigger to get the roots out. You may share the shark!! She found the design online, but I've no idea what the search terms were!! I thought I had another shot with a better view of the dorsal fin, but no. Oh well, have a search!! Cheers All, Nancy.

ANDREA: Thank you.oh Yes,, having a problem with photobuckeet is a understatement.I have even went to their help site to find help with it,and cant get nothing there, either Linda:Thank you, Belinda's Dream is the most care free rose I know of.throw a little fertilizer around it a couple times a year and give it plenty water to drink and it sure does reward you with big gorgous blooms.Not a lot of fragrance, but a little.I love this rose..its a bloom machine, loves to bloom. Avedon: Thank you, isn't Belinda's Dream a wonderful rose..I have a baby one, too. JULIA. I don't know if this pink rose will survive your winters there, but,I am betting that it will,and its a rose you really should try, if you like big pink nearly perfect blooms with not a lot of fragrance to me.I can do without fragrance to have a perfect bloom,myself.and its a huge bloom, too. you should really give it a try if you like pink roses.Myself..I love any color as long as its a rose. Since I bought two of the hula girls and two of the edward laplantes I was able this morning to try the same. I had an edward laplante in the ground blooming (the two above) and I had a hula girl blooming in the pot, so I walked the hula over to the edward to try some polinating myself. That carolina breeze is a pretty flower too! I have only 3 stalks on my little orange as it is in the shade too much. I think I'll move it tomorrow to see if I can serve it better. If it ever gets healthy I'd be glad to share cuttings. Old Dog I really should be working off a calibrated monitor but alas the laptop is more convenient. I really surprised we don't see more photos on this forum. I'm sure everybody has a pic of at least one of their favorites they could share. Hint, hint...... Darren

Very nice pictures! Oooooo, I LOVE Rebel's Splatter Kake. It is on my list of Must Haves! May I ask where you got yours? Also, how long have you had it? It looks to be a very nice size!

I got Splatter Kake from Rob's Violets. He does a superb job of packing and shipping.

Thanks for the recommendation for Rob's Violets. I've been looking at them for awhile -- Just waiting for Spring to avoid high winter shipping costs. I have to say though, the longer I wait, the longer my wish list gets! :-)

I don't believe Rob charges any more for winter shipping unless he has changed his charges since I ordered form him a few months ago. He ships in fiber glass insulated boxes. Of all the violets I have had him ship, (to the west coast of B.C.), I've had only two broken leaves and all plants were in excellent condition.

I just checked the website. From Nov. 1 - April 31, they ship Express Overnight which starts at $21. They will not ship any other way unless asked to and at that point, they do NOT guarantee safe delivery. Did you request to have yours shipped another way? Maybe you ordered yours before November. Either way, I am glad you received such beautiful plants. It looks like your AVs are sitting on a plant stand. Other AVs to share? I love seeing pics!
