We havent got that cold yet,our lowest so far has been 9 degrees.We have alot of snow today!...Hooray..I thought I was going to have to wait until the weekend for some snow,but good old Mother Nature helped me out by bringing a good snow to cover the containers I have out so far!I am glad your pipes are now a flow again and no bursting! :)

Hi Vera, I certainly can commiserate with you, I don't mind low 30s or even high 20s but 0 no thanks, luckily we didn't end up with frozen pipes!
I'm looking forward to March which I understand is very pleasant, unlike Cape Cod in which stays cold til May.

It's been cold here too, Sunday, during the New England Patriots football game, it dipped to a wind chill factor of minus 2 degrees and an above factor of 4 degrees, yep, that's cold. I was washing the dishes right before I put my Lab Cocoa outside on his leash and my hand was a little damp so it stuck to the opening of the lock on his leash, yikes! I am so looking forward to the Spring, have I mentioned that?

Even though I've lived in MA most of my life, I am not use to all this snow and cold weather in the northwest part of the state.

Yep, it's really chilly today. We got ice this morning. My husband almost ended up in the neighbors house across the street pulling out the driveway. (We've got a really steep driveway.)

Well It feels pretty good this afternoon...nice and sunny and no wind....but the real feel good part might be due to the fact that I got a pot of chili simmering on the stove too LOL! Gonna eat it over fries this evening....mmmmm.

Wendy...March is usually pretty great around here! Normally around mid March I am starting to seed lettuce and radishes into the garden! I had wintersown collards, peas, chard, mustard greens and broccoli planted out by April last year :D
We'll be moving sometime spring...hopefully early spring before any containers start to sprout.

With the exception of a freaky 3-day thaw a few weeks ago, it's been cold here since late November. We've had several week-long episodes of single-digit temps and every time I think,"Well, maybe that's the last of it." hahaha What an idiot.

In the past 10 days or so we've had 1 day with temps over 15° (it got up to a whopping 28° - felt like a heatwave!) Last Sunday it was -11° when I got up around 5am.

Yesterday the high here was 14°, and that was about 6 am. The temp droppped throughout the day and at 5pm was down to 8°. This morning at 4 am it was 4° and right now it's 12°. It was sunny earlier but cloudy & grey now with more snow forecast. O, joy.

Either tonight or tomorrow night (can't recall which, and who really cares anymore?) the temp's supposed to go below 0° again with windchills of -25° to -30°. I wish they'd just shut up regarding windchills.

Then, this weekend, the weatherguy claims there's a chance of a warmup (possibly skyrocketing to 33°) but, unfortunately, that'll also bring yet another round of freezing rain (our fourth so far this season).

I've pretty much given up the concept of actually staying warm. Since mid-November I've bought 600 gallons of gas (3 deliveries @ 200 gallons each). The price per gallon was $2.93, $2.96, and $2.99, respectively. That's a dollar+ more per gallon than it was last year! Un-freaking-believable. My highest-priority for this year is finding a "tighter" house to either rent or buy. I'm betting I find it right after I get everything planted. ;-D Uh-oh, somebody better call me a wah-mbulance!

Oh I do know that pain tosser. Our ND winters used to be extremely brutal....getting above -15 was a miracle and don't even ask what the windshield was LOL!!
It's not too common to go below 0 here, but northwest and north of us on the way to BC they were getting -13 to -8 over the last few days :(
This early morning it was 1 and the high for today is 28; dropping to about 15 overnight. Low to upper 30's starting Tuesday....36 on Friday. I might have to do a few more containers on Friday :D

Well, duh. The price of fuel's been $1.93, $1.96, and, as of last Friday, $1.99 per gallon. I guess it just seems a lot higher to me, since I nearly faint every time I have to pay the bill. On the upside, the temp's climbed to 18° here and the sun's back out!

Ok, I can give you cold...
It has been almost a week since we've seen zero. I think the high today is -5. A few days ago the weather lady even had to point out to us that it was warmer in Siberia. Geesh, I don't need to know that...LOL
But out in my greenhouse it is 80 since the sun is out. So I'll have to go sit out there and daydream over my empty pots.

Jiminy, that is cold, bert! Right now at 7:45 am it's -9° here. Dopey Weather Girl says it's going to "warm up" to 2°, but the wind is supposed to kick in with windchills as low as -35°.

At midnight the temps are supposed to magically begin to rise, and she claims we'll be in the 30's by Saturday and - get this - up to 42° by Monday! Of course, there's also a 70% chance of rain Monday, but hey, if it gets to 42° it sure ain't going to be freezing.

So instead of whining about how cold it is, next week I can worry about my WSown containers getting too warm.

Okay, I will not complain that our high is only in the low thirties and our low is in the low 20s high teens. I want to since it is FREEZING to me, but I think I would be complaining to the wrong group of people here...lol. Let's just say, I WANT SPRING HERE!

Expecting snow showers today in the Philly area. Temps will drop tonight, but will rebound into the 40's Sunday and beyond.

Maybe I can do some cleaning outside on Sunday to get the space for my WS containers.....

Woke up to 19 below zero, again, this morning in central MN. Don't even want to know what the temp was with the windchill. I think we made it up to 1 below and currently, at 7pm, is 6 below! Heatwave coming though - weather gal has predicted a high of 36 by Sunday and possibility of rain on Monday. Won't be fun driving to work on Monday after it freezes Sunday night!

During this weekends heatwave, I plan to spend some time in the garage preping another 50 or so milk jugs that I just collected!!!!

Sure wish the furnace would stop running for a minute. I can see the gas meter spinning right off the house!!

Yes! That damned furnace just kicked on again! It's to the point where I practically can't stand the sound of it. Woke up to -14° here, but now, at 10:15 am, it's already up to 9°. Weathergirl seems to think it'll hit the low 20s by late afternoon, and was yammering something about 2-4 more inches of snow early this evening, although it looks as if it could commence snowing any second.
