No, it was actually a perennials post, I think-the one about what we haven't planted yet, but since I bought shrubs, well... I hear you on the 100%-my husband didn't buy the "Look, I saved 30% on these" either, but since I pay for the yard stuff, he never complains. I agree that euonymous aren't exciting, but they will give me the green background I need and help obscure the already almost invisible chain link fence that the new neighbors are angry about, so with luck, it won't be too long before they can't notice it at all. Whaas, I was astounded at how little inventory this place had at this point. Good for them and good for us when we do find something we like! Of course, I can always find something... ;)

I was picturing a dark counter with those choices, adn I agree with the others that if you change the paint color to a green with some gray softness to it, I think it will go well with everything. I like the vinyl. My parents have actual slate tiles that look just like that in their kitchen. I think the vinyl would be better in some respects -- the look is good, but the uneven and very porous floor is not what they or I would have picked. On the granite, some folks don't like AB becuase it shows water spots, crumbs, etc. far more when it doesn't have color variation -- especially in a polished surface. I had one cabinet person tell me they had picked black granite for their own kitchen and hated it. The uba tuba would be more forgiving in that regard, and most of what I have seen installed comes off looking mostly black or near black when installed. The green cast you might pick up and some touches of gold might look very good with the flooring. I'd at least look at a sample in your kitchen before you rule it out.

I've used it with ok results. I used it to color an antique oak dresser that sits outside on the front entry. So a few hints...stir OFTEN and I'm not kidding! The color will deposit on the base of the can in just a few mins and you'll end up with an uneven finish. Follow the directions for the area it needs to be painted in (ie it stinks and you want the right temperature) and be very careful NOT to touch it between coats while drying. Always work with a wet surface, which means you paint it on quickly and in even brush strokes going with the grain, working from one side to the other. If your brush touches a sticky (drying) section it will leave marks. Use the proper kind of brush. Very important with this type of finish. Wear a mask. It's pretty noxious and not good to breath. Does it come out well...yes, but try not to load your brush too much or you'll have streaks and drips. Was this for your mantel???? I'd practice first. Any mistake and you have to let it dry and sand it off, verses the gel stain which can be wiped off with mineral spirits.

He got to come home with Mommy and Daddy on Tuesday morning...they don't keep them very long nowdays...He's doing great! This was at dinner last night...celebrating my son's 21st birthday!!
