Take a look at pictures of Madam Norbert Levavaseur and also of Orleans Rose on www.helpmefind.com
The sprays look like sprays of the polyantha that are descended from Orleans Rose. And these roses can reach that height over a several year period.
Both are old enough and repeat.
Are the stipules at the bottom of the leaves fringed?

It looks more like some sort of hybrid musk than a polyantha to me.

The fringed stipule (of which you took a GREAT photo) is a sign of R. multiflora in its parentage.
The only small flowered HMusk that I know that approaches that depth of color is GartenDirektor Otto von Linne.
Right now, the colors I see on my monitor really look like a LeVavaseur kin we salvaged from a cemetery.
Does it set few if any hips?
Do the petals fade to near white with increasing sun exposure and then they can be knocked off with a sweep of a broom?

It doesn't set very many hips at all and they do turn a very light shade of pink/almost white as they are fading. They can be knocked off very easily after they have been blooming a few days.

Thanks for the compliment on the photo, Ann... I love the macro mode on my camera. It was a little difficult to get close enough to the stipule without getting all wet from the roses. We just keep getting more and more rain!

I'll have to check out hybrid musk and polyantha roses to see what the differences are. And I thought daylilies had a lot of names:)

Thanks Allison, for the compliment. It does look pretty healthy now, but about mid-summer, it does get black spot and I really have to watch the Japanese beetles. I have taken cuttings off this bush to start a new one because I was afraid we may lose it someday.

Robin Hood?

The Robin Hood I grow has fewer petals per bloom and more white at the base of the petals.

If it's a polyantha (related to the Orleans Rose group of polys that are all either offspring of Orleans Rose or color sports of Orleans or its offspring) the best way to root it is to take a "Y" shaped cutting and put that Y into the rooting medium so the split in the Y is covered.

The Orleans Rose group generally set very few hips and do fade to near white as they age, FWIW.

Thank you, Carol and lilc5. The picture above actually looks a little more coral than in person. The best color I have found to define it is crimson. It sure is funny how different times of day affects the color.

Ann, I'm afraid I mis-led you regarding the petals turning white. When I look at the roses in full sunlight, there is a white cast that I mistakenly thought was fading petals. I guess it's just the way the sun hits the petals. They actually just fade to a darker shade, kind of pink-blue-gray. It's hard to describe but I will post more pics of the fading blooms later. Wish my camera would capture the true color. I just can't seem to get it and I've tried many settings.

Looking into the R. multiflora in its parentage lead (thanks, Ann). May have to check out a library book... something I haven't done in years!!

I found this article about Polyanthas and I doubt that I will be able to identify it with any certainty unless I learn a LOT more about roses. Maybe I can find this book from H. Scott Hansen.
