Remove seed from berry. store at 70F for 2 months (consider time spent on plant) Then at 40F for 3 months ..... then lightly cover the seed soil temp 60-80F & takes up to 18 months to geminate..... Cuttings wiyld be faster

Gardengal - Thanks for the info. I'd like to buy a male plant to ensure a heavy crop of berries. Will any "boy" holly be sufficient? I know HD carries "blue boy." Do you have a suggestion? Also, the tag says it needs full sun. We have a u-shaped ranch so my entry garden only gets about 2 hours of full sun right in the middle of the day. Do you think it will do OK there? Thanks for sharing your expertise.

When you preserve juniper that has berries with glycerine and usually a natural color green dye, the juniper will preserve and the foilage will color but the berries do not. The reason that the berries do not take up the dye nor the glycerin is because berries do not have any draw.
