Suggest you do a search on Muscari to see if that might be your blue flower. Unless you're in for a drought this year your bulbs will be out feeding through their leaves until anywhere between October and December - by which time you'll have been showered with heaps of weed seeds for next year. Roundup will possibly deal with the grasses, maybe the clovers, barely touch the docks and buttercups, and the early annuals will have been there done that and left you next year's problem. If you have a site or two under shrubs where you can use the weeds as a green mulch then pulling them up or cutting them off at ground level using something like a sharpened putty knife will save you some very heavy work later in the season. And a not-so-pretty sight for over Christmas. It's possible to do a 'quick and dirty' weed-strip down about 120m of garden in a 'no smoko, start-early' morning - particularly if the ground is loose and the weed growth is not excessive.

Hello Friends, I wanted to see if someone had some seeds / saplings which they could spare. I am just getting started and needed some help. Here are some of seeds /saplings which I wanted to get. I went to our local nurseries but was unable to find it. 1) Nyctanthes arbor-tristis (Night-flowering Jasmine) also known as Parijaat in India. 2) Fragrant Roses. 3) night blooming jasmine (I bought a couple of plants from our local nursery but they do not have any fragrance to them) 4) Any other strong fragrant trees or fruit trees you may have. Hi my user name is leslie_cunningham3 My real name is Leslie Cunningham I’m in 6b zone I am new to gardening in Kansas. We have REALLY SANDY SOIL. I had a garden growing up in Louisiana with my father. I was miltary wife and grew flowers only. When I moved to KS in early 90’s I have had gardens off and on but have always had purchase plants from stores. I had some success only when used chemicals and use potting soil. We have huge problems with insects and gophers. Last yr I lost over 3/4 of my garden to aphids squash bugs and gophers. Each yr I struggle with the decision to continue gardening. Which why Im super happy to have found this site. I did not see a seed exchange for KS on here nor have I found any local seed exchange. So this year I like to grow from seeds. I am looking for veggies herbs and flowers. Perennials and herlooms would be great as I would like to try organic gardening. I also like to learn how to gather my own seeds.
