Walk-behind brush hog?

Sorta kinda off-topic, so here goes;^)

Anyone here ever use/own one of these things? DR makes a well known one, and Troybilt too. I need something to mow the alfalfa between the seedlings I'm planting. The immediate zone around each tree will be kept clean with a Roundup-type herbicide. But I plan to leave the alfalfa grow between tree rows for now, as a cover plant. I just don't want it to get too high and lodge over onto my seedlings. I figure on needing to do this mowing 3 or 4 times a year, for perhaps the first 5 years of the trees lives, 'til they grow together enough to shade out the alfalfa. I can't afford a tractor at present and really don't mind the walking. Also, since my tree rows are in staggered arrangement, it would be difficult to accomplish this with a tractor/brush hog combo.

Anyone?
