I figured that the warranty would still be okay if a non-Kawi filter was used, but you never know these days. I plan on picking up one of those engine hour meter/tach combos this weekend so I can see what she is spinning at. I need to figure out where to mount it so it looks clean. I can't believe that I am caring about a lawnmower this much. I put some vinyl conditioner/protectant on the fan shroud and am looking for a pressure washer to keep the underside clean. Maybe I'll wax it. I figured that since I spent a decent chunk of change on this thing, I might as well get the most out of it by keeping it in shape. I plan on mounting the casters soon to see if I like them. That is part of the reason I got the commercial. I was told that the consumer version doesn't have the ability to mount the casters....

Ok, you have a trigger on this setup and it tells the coil when to fire. The trigger or the coil could be causing this problem and I would lean toward the coil. Without a scope there is no real way to know which is the culprit and even then its tricky because you have to catch the parts hot and failing. You have the dilemma of which part to try in that most electrical parts are not returnable. IF you are ready to take a shot at it try the coil first. Funny you ask!! I'm working on it hard! Takes time to convince the wife Ya Know! We stopped at the hardware store today. I got a couple of bolts and nuts. The wife was looking at tools, paint, and gardening supplies. On our way out I spotted a ztr with a commercial air breather on it. I hopped over thinking it was a Kohler 30hp. To my surprise it was a Gravely sporting a 31hp Kawasaki. WOW! What a awesome looking motor! BIG! Well placed access to the oil filter and drain plug. Well almost being Gravely has a lot of protected covering around the engine. My wife dared not ventured over being I've playing up the Kawasaki being a big block with a larger crank, rods and pistons. And the fact that it was a built down from a 36hp engine where as the Kohler was a souped up 27hp engine meaning smaller parts. And the big block would work easier, where as the smaller block would labor to keep rpms up. You see, I'm working!! LOL! You can see I really Like The Kawasaki! We're going to the dealer Monday! I'll fill Ya'll in. Thanks! ms

?? yer owner's manual or the engine manual should give you all those answers. If you don't have such, get yer dealer to order you one in ASAP or go to JD's residential wabsite - they may have one you can download (don't know yet tractor's model #).
