It looks very similar to conifer's pictures to me. Have you looked at the HFGH construction threads?

If you are worried about it, it seems to me that you could just screw an extra support made from aluminum stock to the bottom of the window frame. Aluminum at HD, Lowe's, ACE. Sheet metal screws, same. SB

I wan't going to say anything because mine is in a box somewhere, never used. It looks upside down to me. I think the gas chamber is usually installed on the top, but DOUBLE CHECK because I am running from memory. Plus the more posts to a thread, the more likely others will open it, and really be able to help.

My autovent is extremely lightweight just to mention...

Also, for my applications (conifer grafting), I learned I had to remove it for the winter and replace the manual vent opener that came with the HFGH. I can't have temps over 50 F for the most part, you on the other hand are probably keeping your temps higher than I am because you can. Therefore, I need access to be able to have a vent open should I need it be.

It's called the Bayliss II Model It's as lightweight as the aluminum frame pieces that the HFGH is constructed of...

Your Univent looks kind of heavy duty but that's just shear hindsight from judging from the photo you took. I guess it just looks weight-wise 'heavy'.

I'm learning just as you are, that I do know. These Harbor Freight's take a lot of tweaking...you'll get it all dialed in though, just give it some time.

I too wondered if it was installed upside down. Then again I don't know anything about these autovents except for what I know about what I own. Mine however, has a threaded copper piece that the cylinder itself screws into. Your's may be engineered/made completely differently...I have no idea.

Many big hardware stores have aluminum extruded section bars tucked away in a corner.

Also take a look at the cheap aluminum window screen replacements. Rip out the screen and use the aluminum frame to donate reinforcing strips.

Thank you all...yes..this is probably more heavy weight than needed. At the time of purchase..I didnt think of weight but value and price. Now of course...I would probably go for a bayliss but didnt know that at the time.

Having a less expensive greenhouse..I do expect to do a little tweaking.. I would love to have a $5000 greenhouse but there are other things I need to spend that money on..so I will just have to tweak away at this one :)

I plan to try to heat mine starting in Feb..with garden plants etc. But we CAN get some hot days here even in winter so I want to install things and make sure they seem to work before I get plants inside.

I will look for some type of aluminum to reinforce that bottom frame piece where the bracket is mounted. That will be cheaper than trying to return and replace the unit that I have.

I've really wanted a greenhouse for years and finally could afford this one so I hope to improve it slowly over time. I have read all the threads that you guys have posted regarding installation and seen some great ideas. I will look for some support materials over the next few days and see what I can do.
