Hillside plan/question

sammy zone 7 Tulsa

I have posted so much about my hillside, and have a couple of questions.

I have removed all roses and vegetation, put in plants that I want, have used Round Up, and am ready to go.

My plan:

Use Round Up again.

Put down newspapers.

Put down landscape fabric.

Set rocks in.

Pour in mulch.

My biggest question is about the newspapers. I know that I should not use the flyers that are colored, but what about pictures on the front pages or in the society section? What about just black pictures? How many pages would be reasonable to use?

Next year when I can do it earlier, I will need to find a way to add dirt to my hillside, and hopefully the broken down newspapers will be a good start.

Preparing this hillside has taken so much time. I have read and read here, and think I have this part of it under control. I have broken the area into about 5 sections, and have put in crape myrtles and bushes. I have a theme with roses, but they will remain at the top, and will not be able to take over the hill part that in the past I have not been able to control.

I would appreciate any advice you might have.

Sammy
