The long and the short of it is that what you have is "highly collectable" and that's why your friend got his stolen. What's at issue here is the age of the pedal tractor, the model of it, the maker (ERTL???), how rare it is to come across the one you have and the condition of it. In other words, all the things that apply to a collectable, old garden tractor also apply to your pedal tractor. The best way to test the market is to gently clean it up. DO NOT alter it, paint it or change a thing on it. You will diminish the value by doing so. It is what it is. Put it up for sale on e-Bay in a 10 day auction to give it the widest exposure. Offer it for sale with an opening bid of $9.99 with no reserve. Don't worry.... it won't stay at ten bucks for very long and the real action will happen in the final minute of the sale anyway. I saw a 30 series Case pedal tractor in well-worn condition bring around $500.00 on e-Bay not so long ago. Would that be enough money for you? Yours might bring less but it might bring more.

In lieu of using an "impact wrench", you can sometimes "improvise". This works best if you use a "6 point" boxed end wrench (instead of a 12 point) of the correct size to fit the PTO mounting bolt. Place the boxed end wrench on the PTO bolt and hold it in place with a gloved hand (or prop a short length of 2 X 4 between the wrench and the ground, under the bolt) so the wrench can't fall off. Position the wrench so you can strike the shank (or handle) of the wrench with a hammer about 2 to three inches out from the bolt. Striking at this point will give greater acceleration at the bolt than if you strike the outer end of the wrench. It might require that you give it a couple of "practice swings" before you take a real swing at it. This is a technique that most mechanics have used (though some might not want to admit it). This trick can be used to tighten fasteners as well (but don't get too carried away as you can overtighten easily). Also a "pull handle" with a socket can be used instead of a box wrench. DO NOT use a ratchet handle for this because the impact and acceleration imparted by the hammer strike can/will damage the pawl in the ratchet head.

Hiya Nikki, if you look at your photobucket album you will see the options on the top right side of the screen that says upload from "your computer, web url, cell phone or email", choose cell phone and then it will give you the email address to send your pictures straight from your cell to your photobucket account. I just did it for the first time the other day. They will send you a confirmation text message back to your cell. I don't know how to turn that part off though. Wendy, Thank you so much for your box. I recieved it as I was walking out the door heading for my long drive to DC. I hurried and opened it and wrote a note to Jason with directions for the plants. The plants looked great and I love everything else that you sent :) Wendy sent me 4 plants, one that I know is sedum, and maybe a vine looking plant, and the other two I am not sure of. - pot hanger decorations, I do not know the 'real' name of what they are. But they are really cute and will look good on some of the pots that I painted :) -lighthouse statues -little stand with a flag -scrapbooking paper -butterfly windchime... that was my favorite!!
