In need of new garden tractor-advice please

Hi all,

I just found this site and love it! We have a Cub Cadet 2072 with 60" cut. The engine went out last spring and we begged, borrowed and payed for others to cut our yard.

Now we are looking either to replace or repair. A new engine will be around $2,000, not including actually putting it in.

Is it worth it? My dh definitely wants a large cutting deck. We have about 5 acres to cut-the rest is pasture and we bush-hog it with his large tractor. The large tractor tears up the yard though.

We have just a bit of flat ground, the rest is small hills and dips, and sloped.

I am thinking of the future. My dh works quite a bit, and I can't handle the large tractor. So, I want something that I can also use, not only to cut, but to do other chores. No animals right now, we had a fire two years ago and had to sell everything, but in a few years we will be getting some animals.

I would appreciate any suggestions you all have.

BTW-my dh had his heart set on a ZT but I have been reading that it is for mostly flat lawns and has no attachment things.

He is a bit mechanically inclined but has no time.

Thanks so much, Tina
