cub cadet problems
Comments (3)These can be buggers. I wish I could point you to 1 certain thing. Pull the sides and start checking the positioning switches for the handles, brake switches etc. If you have power to the PTO switch, likely there is a safety line issue to the switch....See MoreCub Cadet 1042... Comments (8)Clutch connector is near the... clutch. Just follow the wire coming out of the clutch. Hopefully the clutch isn't bad because it's the most expensive replacement part after the engine and transaxle. You can disable the reverse mow safety "feature" by disconnecting the connector at the switch. Follow the rod connected to the foot pedal back to the transaxle. There is a switch back there that detects reverse pedal condition. Just disconnect it and tape it up out of the way. That probably won't fix your problem now though. There must be some wires crossed or shorted. Examine all the wires you can to see if there are any with broken insulation the might be touching the frame. I'd check the clutch first though....See MoreOpinions on used Cub Cadet RZT 50
Comments (1)First of all, that is a clean ZTR for that age and that is a good price IMO. But (and this is coming from someone that just ordered a new Cub ZTR) if you need to pull a trailer or use implements, I think you know that you are better off with a conventional tractor, maybe with tight turning. It seems like it is much easier to find a used garden tractor than a ZTR in decent shape for a reasonable price. So if you have the room, your plan for a second tractor might be feasible. However, two tractors would take up a lot of room and you would have the added maintenance to deal with. Still, one tractor would be the most practical answer with two being a luxury....See More2009 Cub Cadet PTO disengages when deck is lowered
Comments (10)It has to be a connection or wiring issue since the PTO disengages when the deck is lowered below the 4th position. When the deck is at the 5th position or higher, the PTO is fully engaged and doesn't disengage at all. Only problem is that I can't for the life of me find where there is an issue with a cable, wire or connection. Yesterday I thought I found the problem where the main wiring harness comes from the engine and continues under the seat, I realized that lowering/raising the deck mechanism was directly on-top of the connector. However, I rerouted the cables and cable-tied them to a different spot on the frame but still have the same results......See Morercmoser
