Trees for North Carolina mountains

palmcityfl

I purchased land in the NC High Country (Boone) at 3800 foot elevation. Many of the trees in the High Country were damaged by ice storms this winter and I'd like to replant this summer. Being a South Floridian, I have little experience with trees in temperature zones. I'd like to grow trees from seed, acorns or seedlings so I won't empty my wallet. What trees would you recommend for the southern Appalachians? Here's a list of trees I'm already growing-

Oaks (white, chestnut, red, scarlet)

Red maple

Tulip poplar

Black walnut

White walnut

Dogwoods (including kousa)

Crabapples

Mountain ash

Paw Paw
