Unknown problem with a potted rose...

Hello,

As I cannot figure out on my own what is the problem with a rose ("Pearl Grey") that I have been growing for a couple of months in a pot, I am posting this message.

I received the rose at the beginning of the year. First, it grew nicely. Then its leaves started to yellow and drop. After consulting a couple of nurseries, they told me that it might a spider mite problem. I then started spraying it with Rose Defense. This appeared to have solved the problem for awhile. But now, I have a new problem for which I don't seem to find a solution.

Two weeks ago, the rose bush had many leaves. Now the leaves are drying out (even the new growth) and are dropping if touched. Furthermore, some of the canes are turning black: see picture below.

Does anyone know what the problem might be and what the solution (if any) would be?

Thansk for your help.
