Blue Pine Dying!
Comments (1)If you are keeping the Pine indoors you are killing the tree. They need to be outdoors in the weather and they need to be watered when they need it not on some arbitrary schedule....See MoreJapanese White Pine Dying?
Comments (5)wow.. exercise the warranty ... and be done with this dead conifer ... and if you get a replacement.. come back to the conifer forum.. and ask how to pot a pine ... sounds like it was kept TOO WET ... root rot ... also.. never really heard of a bare root 5 foot pine ... i have no clue what submerging it in a tub of water ... would do for it ... and the potting media might have been wrong.. if it was high in peat.. without large pieces of something like bark to aerate the media.. and intensify drainage ... most pines like a drink.. and then near complete drying before another drink .... better luck next time ken...See Morevan der wolf pine dying, please help!
Comments (7)Sounds like winter killed it, here. You did the most you can though. If there's any good foliage where the tips of the buds are, then as Ken says, it's good news for you. And, follow Dave's watering advice. You never know, it might come back. To post a photo you need to have a photo server program. Photobucket is commonly used here. Sign up, it's free, create album(s); when the photos are in your albums, copy/paste the code that is given beneath each photo (there are four, select the third one down) and paste it (right here within the Message: "box" I am typing in right now. When you preview your message you will see the photo. If you select preview and the photo does not appear, try repeating these directions, until you are able to see the photo. If you don't see the photo when you preview your message, nobody will see the photo when you submit the message. It's either there, or it isn't. I think it would be in your best interest to post photos. Close-ups of the buds, and areas of kill and areas of where live needles remain, and a photo or a few of the entire tree.
