Serious play time on the way!!

Looks like we`ll be getting plenty of plow time and snow thrower time Sat.morning around here. Should have about a foot of the white stuff on the ground by tomorrow evening.

Love Ohio winters!!

I totally agree that earworms appear from nowhere--and won't go away! I can awake in the middle of the night and there's a song playing over and over and over in my head. The ones I don't mind too much are hymns; at least I'm 'listening' to something uplifting.

Caroline, I love your 'Great Aunt Matilda' thing.... wouldn't it be fun to make an entire book like that? I'm thinking photos, especially if the time period could be identified, names, and stories! Stories told either about or 'by' the person in the photo. 100% fictional of course. I'd do it in a big (preferably old) scrapbook. My DH and I both love old stuff and digging out treasures at garage sales and second hand stores. This might be something we could do together this summer. Last summer, we bought a old trunk/wardrobe. The kind people used to carry on ships. The mother of the woman we bought it from had used it when she came to the US from hawaii, to marry this woman's dad who was shipping home from the service. We have information on the year, where she came into the US, how she traveled to Michigan, etc. What a treasure!

Sawfly INFESTATION. I'm serious this time.

Thank you to everyone who replied to this, I also have a sawfly situation on my hands, although it isn't as bad as last year..... yet! Last year I didn't know what the spots were, and I let it get waay too far-gone, and my poor roses were naked by July, NOT THIS YEAR, BUGS!!! When I have more time I will go through and read each & every one of your replies, as right now I'm in a hurry to get to work & can't, but even just scanning through this I saw some helpful advice that I will implement asap. Those darn sawflies can be so frustrating, why can't they just eat one of the thousand other plants available in my area, why do they have to eat our precious roses!? UGH!

I`m in Elyria,about mid state,right by the lake.
Gotta take back what I said about the fun time plowing and blowing snow. The word "UNCLE" comes to mind

Here in lovely upstate ny we got about a foot. I don't know if my little JD L100 is going to handle this one!!! This is probably the biggest fall It will have taken on in the 2 years I have been plowing with it. Time for some fun!

To me the fun part about snow is sitting by a cozy fire and watching out the window as the flakes drift down. We had a bit yesterday (about an inch athough it lightly snowed all morning). We havn't had a decent snow fall here in the Tennessee valley in years.

UNCLE! Indeed.

I really wish I had gotten the new engine fully installed on the Charger 12 last fall. The 1964 WH 854 has done amazingly well, but this was enough that blowing would have been the best approach.

You`re right about the blowing .It did work a lot better then the plow. Got lucky, a back hoe was working across the road where a county snow plow ran off last night and got hung up. The guy decided to give my wife a helping hand getting the road end of our drive opened up. The plows had been going by all day yesterday and all night long. We had about four feet of the white stuff out there. The Cub was working fine but still appreciated the help. BIG buckets are definatly the way to go!!!
