can I use high-nitrogen soil from my crawlspace?

Hello all!

I moved into a new house and, in addition to getting the soil ready to garden, I also had to redo the foundation -- and that means I've got a bunch of soil coming out from the crawlspace under my house. I had it tested and it's REALLY high in nitrogen (750 PPM), but otherwise it seems to be really good soil.

I'd like to use it in my yard (which is low in nitrogen), but that crazy-high level of nitrogen makes me wonder if something happened to the soil.

Any recommendations about whether I should use this soil? Or what caused this extreme level of nitrogen?

Loren
