In my yearning for a live oak I decided to try bonsai just to have one.I still am going to try that but I want one in the yard. So I finally found a nursery in Arizona that has the Q Fusiformis ( plateu oak) it's reputedly zone 6 hardy. It is going to be going from that climate to mine, I'm a bit worried about that but I am just happy I found one of these.I broke my rule of spending 30-40 $ maximum for this exception, it was $ 65.00 with shipping. It will be potted in soil so it should be okay on the long trip from AZ.I realize it may not be successful without cold climate provenance in it's genes , but I'm going to try anyway. I'll give updates how it's doing in case another zone 6 person may want to try this tree.
