I hope so, lol. Originally I was just going to cover the tent like structure with plastic but it progresses slowly from there, lol. I got the hardi board from a friend so I think that will last longer if I cover the plastic with it and help insulate. I moved in about half the plants yesterday and it stayed at 54 in there even though it dropped down to 43 with one small electric heater so I am going to try the bigger heater tonight since we are going to have a freeze next week. If that doesn't raise it higher I will bring the propane one from the shop home for the extra cold nights but the small one is fine for the not so cold nights. I'll take a pic later.

We are currently using a Portable garage greenhouse. I started a thread on what we are doing right & wrong. We live in Texas so our winters are quite mild. We really only need some protection for about 3 months. We purchased the white enclosure that is sold with the frame, to this we have also purchased an additional clear valance cover and side panel. This is where our greatest light source is from. The quality of the clear cover is very good this guy has been doing this for 30 years! I actually met him he is local-but sell all over. The peak is an issue you need to get that part right so it fits. If anyone could suggest a duct type tape that is locally available it would be of great help. Our heat will just melt anything. Our house comes down in the summer. But the tape is our issue. The corners will need to be sealed as well as around the valance top. We need a tape that will not destroy the plastic when it is removed, but strong enough to take the elements. They make a different type of portable it looks like you are in the North so snow is an issue. Northern Tool makes a strong frame type shed you might look at it is more expensive than what I purchased but well worth it for your needs. I also found someone that sells the connecting pieces so you could use steel fence posts as supports instead of a pre-made frame But overall we a quite pleased so far. We collect Brugs & Plumerias they get quite large so the Brugs barely fit. 9.5 inch peak. Next year we will loft the house about a foot. If I have time we might do this year. Hi Puglvr. I don't know of any one website that does exactly what you're looking for. I wish I did! I think there is a nice weather records summary page for Jacksonville only because there is a National Weather Service office there. If you don't have a NWS office in your city, it can be harder to find that records data. The other Florida NWS office locations are: Key West, Melbourne, Miami, Tallahassee, and Tampa Bay Area. If you go to the page I have linked, find the Florida section and click on the name of the city closest to you. That will take you to your local NWS office's web page. My best suggestion is fish around in the "Climate" section of your closest NWS office. Unfortunately the amount of data they have and the way they organize and show it is not standard at all. Every NWS office seems to be different! Some of them have record temperatures/latest freeze data for other towns/cities near the NWS office, and others only have data for the city in which the NWS office is located. Some have a records summary chart (like Jacksonville) and for others (like Tampa) you have to look through pages of record lows for each calendar date to find the latest calendar date with a subfreezing low. Another option is to go to weather underground (wunderground.com) and go to the monthly calendar view to look at the recorded minimum temperatures at a weather station near you. However, it's already been noted that the quality of these stations varies a lot. Last, you can always try using a search engine and searching on [name of your town] weather records. Well, I am using a thick mulch of oak leaves on most of my beds with cannas, taros etc. The snow has added to this so I am hopeful that the cold will not be too much of an issue there. I have built some "mini greenhouses" as a fun project with some spare wood and plastic sheeting and now I am happy that I did. I am using them on some small windmill palms that even with this and mulch do not look so hot, but I have not taken the covers off to see if there really is much damage, will wait until this is all behind us. I have Musa Basjoo stalks encased in leaves wrapped with landscape fabric capped with garbage bags. I am hopeful for these, but again we will have to see. I have a Butia Capiata palm that I have built a cover (another not so mini greenhouse!) for and have chritmas lights on and it seems fine, no visable damage any way, fronds still look nice and green all the way to the tip, but we will have to see. I brought some potted things into the basement. One that I forgot to cover was a Fatisa Japonica that now looks to be mush. Any one know if this might grow back from the root? It was a late addition to the garden and was on sale so not the end of the world, but I hate to see dead plants! I am also worried about some of the Rhodos as they look real bad, they did not seem to like the heavy snow, but I figure they will bounce back?
