Howdy, howdy, howdy...

Thought I'd jump in here and show everyone the progress I've made with getting out the old and installing the new

The february snow storm of 2010 took down the Sunglo POS.

Insurance covered most of the replacement costs

This green house was on the west side of the home. Time to move on!

New location, south side of the house.

New greenhouse came in "almost ready to assemble" as all the main parts were assembled at the factory and then disassembled, trucked to my location and I reassembled it. I used post and beam construction. Notice the gas meter in the center of the house. That bad boy had to go! $2100 later, the gas company moved the meter.

The beams are 6x6 treated and then coated with tar

The greenhouse sits on a 32" knee wall. the material is a cement board that looks like T-11 barn siding. There is 8' of R19 insulation in the knee wall.

Simple basket weave paver floor.

Ends go up first, then the front, followed by the roof. The glazing is real glass 3/16" thick on walls. the roof is thin wall poly carbonate.

It's getting there. By the way, this is 22 foot long and 10 foot wide.

Glazing in place, left over pavers I used for the front entrance.

So, there you have it. The green house is made by arcadia glass works near cleveland ohio. Really nice people to work with. I'll post their URL later.

Heating will be by natural gas using a modine hot dawg 75k heater.

Wish me luck!
