If you buy a bag of Turface and a bag of grit, then add enough pine bark to make a 1:1:1 ratio mix, you should end u with about 3 cu ft (about 22-25 gallons) of mix with some bark left over. Another way of looking at it is, you would need about 4 gallons of each ingredient (after screening) to make about 10 gallons of soil. You can fertilize with a low dose each time you water if you're flushing the soil when you fertigate, or use a half recommended dose weekly when temps are conducive to good growth. A full recommended dose every 2-3 weeks is also an option. AL

Oh my dear...... I have about 4 patches of Immortality.....groves maybe. It is definitely scented and like many irises (and lilies for that matter) it may be described as having a strong scent, especially in the sun. Another one that comes to mind that can be a bit much is Bosenberry Buttercup and even I don't like that one. I guess it is individual preference. I think Saturday Night Live smells like Dr. Pepper! And really like oriental lily Conca D'Or but can hardly tolerate the scent! ??? So if it smells like corned beef to you, I would suggest you leave it in Mom's garden. :) Ginny

You MUST upload to a web server. That usually means a photo hosing site for most people, but some computer people host their own servers. A linked photo does not always provide a link to the host site or open in a new window. That has to do with the HTML coding used to show that photo in a post. Sometimes, just the image tag is used and you get just the photo without the link to the hosting site. (img src="photohostinglocation.com/jpg") Replace the parenthesis with carets and your hosted photo will appear in the post. Photobucket is very easy to use for even a person lacking computer skills. I suggest you create an account there and follow their instructions for linking images if you wish to imbed images into a post.

I wrote a fed up letter to GW and that banner below disappeared. That means others did it, too. Write to Tamara. The more the better. I pissed & moaned about 3 sides of the screen being blocked by ads, and that newest, bottom ad even covered up where I was trying to type. There is no shame in the $$ they'll take from advertisers. I did mention that I would never, ever by from the advertisers that were blocking my screen. Again, I wish I were powerful enough to think my letter made a difference, but volume is volume.
