Sears/Craftsman tractor:

Say, i just went down to the local Sears store, to trade in a broken ratchet for a rebuilt one, and i saw a nice Craftsman lawn tractor, B&S engine, standard tranny, on sale for $999, brand new! Wasn't red, or green, or black, but was a nice shade of tan. Seemed like the perfect machine to mow the grass with!

Of course, they had several much higher priced models, with all the bells and whistles on them, but i can't see how they would cut the grass any better than the cheaper one! As long as ya take care of the cheaper one, it would probably do the job fer ya!

Some of the higher price machines have the right side gas pedal/shift/ whatever pedal, and i've tried that type, and don't like it. They advertise it drives like yer car, but when i tried one, i broke out the back end of a friends shed while parking it in there. Being used to stepping on the pedal to stop--well--it didn't, and the harder i pushed on it, the faster it went! BANG!!

Danged new-fangled gadgets!
