Name That Plant!

Please name this flower

The flowers on the left, I can't seem to find a name or more pictures of these. I realise they may be rare hibrids, in such case would there be some other flower that I could find pictures of that looks very similar in pedal formation? If all you can give me is a general geneous then that will at least tighten my search. Colour isn't a problem.

They look like dahlias

possibly pom-pom and semi cactus varieties, but yes they look like dahlias to me as well.

Googling indicates that all parts of the plant (especially the roots and seeds) are extremely poisonous and wearing gloves to handle it is recommended.

Yes these are Dahlias, the 3 on the left are formal decoratives and the one on the left is classed as a straight cactus. The link below shows the names, classifications and pictures of many different Dahlias. Looks like the photo was taken at a Glad and Dahlia show.

Judging by the photobucket info the picture is from Knowsley Flower Show. This is an event which takes place near Liverpool, NW England. The green vases are classic flower show vessels. If you look between the dahlias and the gladioli you will a rose class on show too.
