Salvia? Large leaf, variegated young leaves, purple flower

This was purchased at an extension office planet sale in Florida, but it is now obvious it was mislabeled. It has a square stem and leaves much like my other salvias, but a good bit larger (some ~8" long). The young leaves appear to be variegated with lots of white, but all the unfolded leaves (so far) are solid dark green.

I planted two in late April, and I'm just now seeing my first buds (purple) in picture, despite my other salvias (Florida Blue, Black & Blue) being on their last legs before winter. It has grown quite rapidly from a few inches to ~4'. Since I naively thought it was something else, it may need to be relocated, but I'd like to know what I'm dealing with before deciding when/where.

Thanks,

astro
