My husband and I built an east facing 20 x 8 lean-to greenhouse in SE Alaska using the Sundance site (with lots of cut and paste to make sense of it). WeÂve since sold that house and are rebuilding with plans to duplicate the greenhouse. The new greenhouse roof faces directly south, and it abuts the house on the north side and the garage on the east, so only two sides are exposed. I want to increase the ventilation by venting the entire ridge in two 1Â x 10Â sections with auto-vent openers as well as a 2Â x 4Â section in one wall. Do any of you with construction experience have a suggestion of how to build the ridge vent? Would I be able to mount the poly of the venting section on a lighter frame and use piano hinges across the top edge to mount it, then just let it overlay the lower section when it closes? Shipping seems to be $7.00 per linear ft per package up to 12' - to a maximum no. of sheets per package of 50. They also have a roll of twin-wall corrugated plastic: 8' wide; each @ $7.39 per linear ft, and a 250' roll @$6.95/linear ft. They don't say what the shipping/freight charges on that would be. While I am not sure how much they would be price-wise compared to local sources, their prices for the water filters I have bought from them seems to be competitive ($5-7 against what I priced at Lowe's a few years ago at over $15!) - they have stuff for agricultural growing and storage, so they carry everything that can come under that heading - the specialty catalogue I just got, for that only, runs to 352 pages.
