Hi I've grown "Irish Moss" as well as "Scotch moss" Sagina subulata (aurea) I assume that's what you mean ?? Since it's a flowering plant it's not really a moss and the "real " stuff is actually a red algae lol Love Sagina grown in the method you describe but find it will not tolerate florida summers but is gorgeous during winter. That's not really so bad as generally I find that it's overgrown with weeds after a season or two so needs to redone anyway. Nothing I've tried is permanent though some of the tropical selaginellas will persist for years but tend to get overgrown?? Maybe someone will jump in with other suggestions?? Nothing wrong with Sagina even temporary but I'd start out say in Oct. for the longest season.?? gary

That says 'most of the US accounts of the plant acting as a weed are in the Southeast from SC across to TX and FL.' I can tell you it will never likely act 'as a weed' up here in 7a, since it is not all that vigorous and freezes down nearly every winter. I wonder if Cyrtomium fortunei acts the same way. It seems to be a half zone hardier than falcatum. They can be a bit hard to tell apart unless side-by-side.

I looked at A lot of images of Arctotis and found a few that really resemble my flower. It seems to me that the gaillardia seem to bleed from The center into the petals which mine does not. They even sort of remind me of a Gerbera Daisy. In any event, they are pretty and cheerful and I love them in the garden :-) thanks everyone for all your help

Hi Annie! You posted "what's up with the pods on this plant?? They don't look quite right to me" and I have a question & hopefully an ID. First is the question, do all pods looking similar & how many? A lot of times the first few pods might be small or show some regressive trait on the first couple of pods then snap out of it & produce normal pods later. The ID info is two fold (1. Remember this appears to be a recent "release" and probably unstable.) and I have only seen it listed as 2. Habanero Chocolate Hand Grenade. So, bookmark this thread and stop back with a follow up as my experience with Bonnie Plants pretty stable genus.... Hope this helps, NECM `
