poly panel greenhouse
Comments (1)I'm having similar issues with mine. Cold fronts blowing in from the north, blow my doors in which lets all the wind come right on in and then blow out the sides. Panels which were siliconed in place are no longer. I froze my fingers this morning trying to put them back in place before I went to work. The doors are the weak point. Need to construct a framework for the doors....See MoreHave anyone glued greenhouse poly sheets?
Comments (3)I do not think anything can glue polycarbonate. I've tried many glues that claim they work. None I've tried do. Possibly, with woven materials, an engineer could come up with a product that could hold two components together. I have not found any Chemists that can in six years of looking....See MoreSingle poly or double?
Comments (2)Hi Calistoga, Yes, shade cloth is more appropriate for cooling, but my question was whether it would be better to have single poly or double poly for zone 10 areas. The double poly compared to the single poly is the probably the better choice for growers who live in areas with cold winters as it can keep more of the heat in. I was wondering whether the double poly would be also work the same way to keep the cool air(from evaporative cooler) in and the hot air out. I plan to grow a variety of highland plants(70-80F days, 50-60F nights). Fortunetly, the night temperatures in southern CA are low enough that I do not have to worry about nighttime cooling....See MoreHoop spacing for poly double wall cover
Comments (4)jspece, What kind of wind load do you get there? I am just below the crest of a hill with nothing on it (the hill) but a road. Also the hill runs down to a wooded river/stream/creek and there is nothing from me to the woods but bush and an open field. That is about 250 yards down to there. The prevailing winds from NE or SW and it does blow here. 10 to 15 for days is common. And near gale force happens more than I like. I have decided to go ahead and push it out to the full 15 feet and I am also going to widen it out to 80 inches. I am also replacing some of the bearing pieces with EMT conduit. The PVC just flexes too much. Like a said, "I true learning experience" and costly as well 1eyedJack and the Dawg OPPs, Thanks for the reply...See Morejeaninmt
