Guys, I am sorry for OT, but I need an advice - urgently! I found a snake today in my garden. It seems to live under our gazebo. My DH wants to kill it, but I hate to kill a living thing without a strong reason... I tried to identify it by googling, but it turned out a hard thing to do.

I know that so many knowledgeable people visit this forum. Maybe, someone will be able to ID this thing?

Any advice about what to do with it would be also appreciated...

It does not look venomous to me. It is at least 1.5' long, probably 2' long and about 1" thick. We are in MD.
