trying to identify this squair stemed plant

I acquired this plant from a cutting over 45 years ago.

The stems are at first fleshly and supple and over years grow quite woody, and are square in cross section. During the growth period it sports an ivy like leaf that falls off in the dormant stage. It also produces red berry like fruit. It can be propagated by cuttings. It some times will root along a branch that is in contact with the ground.

As I am new to this forum and do not know how or if it is possible to upload multiple pictures I will post a second with the new growth.
