Ok, I'll look for a more powerful and brighter light bulb. I'm going to be moving most of my seedlings outdoors as soon as they start growing their true leaves, but I guess I could start doing that now. Sorry, I'm new at this. I watched an episode of Good Eats about melons which lead to me hearing about Charentais and how good they are. I researched, to find out, to enjoy them, my best bet would be to grow them. So, I've been scouring the internet for hours the past 3 weeks looking up how to grow these melons the right way, and seeing if I can get them to grow indoors. See, I'm a college student, and currently, I'm staying at my father's house, which I can go outside and plant them. But, when I go back to college, I'm in a 250sqft studio to myself with no garden or anything. So, I want to be able to enjoy this fruit while I'm at school. That's why I made the greenhouse. I probably should have explained this in my first post, but I want to be able to grow these indoor while I'm at school during its off season.

If you two are still looking for ideas for using old windows for a greenhouse, I found these messages in here today and they have links to some pics of users "glass"houses. I don't know what your areas are like...weatherwise....but if either of you live in an area that gets wicked hail storms like I remember growing up in OK...then you might not want to put the windows on your roof. :) Just a thought...course I have no idea what would stand up to hail like that! Hi marcinont. I'm doing the same thing with windows I've collected. I'm looking to build something mostly for tropical pond plants and my wife may want to keep her turtles and birds warm with it also. I'm looking to make it not too permamant so it could be moved or modified if needed. The design in mother earth news made alot of sense to me. The long angled southern exposure wall with glass also on the east and west walls. The north and overhanging roof would be solid and insulated. Keeping the heat in some in winter and the overhang would limit sun in the summer. Being in the window biz maybe you know about "solar glass" I have the opportunity to get some 4'x8' single pane panels but I'm not sure if it helps me much. I already have some 2 pane glass including low-E glass. Do you know if this glass used in solar collectors would be signifigantly better for use in a greenhouse?
