Rion Greenhouse feedback?

I'm looking at getting a 8 x 16 rion professional greenhouse kit. Has anyone gotten one of these or simular products from them? I've had a hard time finding feedback on the quality of the greenhouses, ease of assembly, and durability. Any comments are appreciated.

If you do a Search for Rion you will find many message threads that mentioned Rion greenhouses.

Here in our cold Maine winters I would be concerned that the resin plastic could get brittle and be subject to breakage. A couple of our resin lawn chairs that were left out in the cold have literally shattered almost like glass when hit with something that was blown by the wind. It's not unusual for our temperatures to get below zero in the winter.

I looked at the Rion GH's last year, when I was trying to decide on a GH and the price was tempting, until I really looked at how they are made and came the some conclusions as has maineman.

Nevertheless, if you live in a milder climate than we do (No. Ill & Maine) for their cost and clever design, a Rion could be a good choice for you.

It all comes down to intended use. If any GH suits both your needs and budget, it's worth whatever you pay for it. If it won't, it's no bargain at half.

Buying a name brand GH is rather like buying a car. Pick your model and assessories, then let you fingers do the walking. Just Google Rion Greenhouses, then make notes on each website and the price for the model you want, delivered. Don't be afraid of bargaining for an immediate sale either. It's a buyer's market right now, so if you are ready to buy, have a CC # on-hand and prepare to make an offer the dealer can't refuse.

Hey Earl, Sounds pretty good so far... You might want to consider making the walkway even narrower. My walkway is just a wee bit bigger than my shoe size so that I can have even more growing space. I do have a slightly larger area when you open the door so I can put a small chair and soak up the smells of my greenhouse Which leads me to my next point about a work area. Since space is at such a premium in this size of a greenhouse I would move it to the garage. However, it depends on how you view the function of a greenhouse. I rememeber on a open garden tour last year where this guy used almost half of his small greenhouse to have two lounger style lawn chairs in it. You might want to consider gravel for your pathway as you can wet it down and as it evaporates it will cool down the greenhouse. Jeff (who is down to his last four Giraffe tomatoes)

Congratulations on the greenhouse! I just put my Rion up this past EARLY spring and have each step on photos if you'd care to glance through them. Mine is same as your's except it is 20' in length, but still may help with some ideas. Just keep clicking on the next photo's to see how it came out. So far, I have been extremely happy with it. Will see how well it is doing come spring, as far as components. Thanks to others here in the forum, I am still learning what to do & what not to do with it this winter here in Central IL.
