I would guess that this could be Claridge Druce. It is mixed in with another common, tough, work horse of the British garden, Lysimachia punctata.

HI Kaylah, It "could" be celestial, the only objection would be the outer petals look different to me, plus, doesnt celestial open up to show its stamens alot of times? This stays fairly doubled through its stages. It might be celestial, I do not know! Its more than likely this area would have been settled by English settelers during that time. The only other option would be french, they were more to the south and eastern north. Later the Irish and Scots came, but that was a little later. Veilchen, that rose does look similiar, my first thought was this rose was an alba of some sort due to the height and scent. But im not sure now. My buds look a little different i feel like though... take a look...I can only guess as to when the rose was planted. I do not know if it was the year the house built or much later. Thank you I had not thought of that one as these hips were very large compared to the red (pink) Rugosa I have seen. If it is I guess I need to find a white rugosa as it was very nice looking shrub and had a lot of hips on it so must have had a good bloom.

John, thanks sooooooooooooooo much! I was sitting here WONDERING and was like....hummmm....I should just ask! So THANKS A TON!!!! Armeria sounds right, I think that is one of the tags I had found in there and placed in the drawer of tags I find! This garden commenced about 50 years ago and I am the third owner and creater! So, when I find ANY tags I keep them and try to find them in there!!! I have added about 20 varieties - and still adding of course! Any idea where to order tags that will not lose the name???
